About Sciatica

Sciatica can be defined as pain along the path of sciatic nerve. Sciatic nerve runs from the pelvis through the buttocks and hips down to back of each leg. It is not a disease, but a symptom suggestive of an underlying cause. Pain is experienced when there is compression or irritation of one of the five roots that give rise to the sciatic nerve.
