HRT was shown to increase the risk of uterine cancer, but this risk is eliminated when the estrogen is combined with progesterone. Certain studies in some study populations show an increased risk of breast cancer with HRT. Patients on HRT have also shown a slightly increased risk of developing blood-clots and strokes.
