Overview

Bursitis Information at a Glance

Bursitis is a condition in which there is swelling, irritation and excruciating pain in your bursa (a sac full of fluid that acts as a cushion between the muscles, tendons, and joints). Bursitis normally occurs in the shoulder, knee, elbow, Achilles tendon, foot or the hip. The symptoms include pain, stiffness, redness, tenderness and swelling in the joints. Bursitis is usually due to overuse of your joints. For instance: rigorous workouts, training for a marathon etc. It could also be caused by trauma, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or infection. On many occasions, the cause of it may not be traced.

Nevertheless, the condition is painful to bear and our specialists are here to provide you the support you need and will always be with you in your journey from dis-ease to ease.

What are the Treatment Options for Bursitis?

Conventional treatments for Bursitis include NSAIDs, Antibiotics, and local steroid injections. NSAIDs such as Aleve, Anaprox, Anaprox-DS only help relieve the pain temporarily. Also, they are not without their fair share of side-effects. Their side-effects may include upset stomach, mild heartburn or stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation; blurred vision; ringing in the ears; and skin rash. Excessive use of Steroid injections may cause the bone, ligaments, and tendons to weaken. Western medicine has no known cure for Bursitis. Every time Bursitis flares up, occidental Doctors only offer symptomatic relief. We totally understand this and have therefore dedicated our lives and time to helping people across the globe get back to being healthy again.

In India, China and other lands that recognize herbal medicine, the herbs of our protocol can also be used to treat bursitis.

As per the FTC Enforcement Policy Statement on Marketing Claims for OTC Homeopathic Drugs anyone selling homeopathy must state:

  • There is insufficient scientific evidence that homeopathy works, and
  • The product’s claims are based only on theories of homeopathy from the 1700s that are not accepted by most modern medical experts.

However, we have dedicated our lives to Natural Healing and can vouch for what nature has to offer. We are with you in this every step of the way!

What is Bursitis?

Bursitis means inflammation of one or more bursae, which are small sacs filled with synovial fluid. They are found in the joints, in-between the bones and muscles. They aid in smooth, painless movements of the joints. In the absence of bursae, there would be a lot of friction happening every time there was a movement. Bursitis is usually caused due to excessive use of a particular joint and the elbows and knees are the most commonly affected joints.

Bursitis causes pain and stiffness in the affected joint, which is worse during and after movement.

Causes of Bursitis

Common causes of bursitis are overuse, trauma and excessive pressure on a joint. However, it can also be caused by infection, gout or arthritis.

The cause of bursitis also depends on the location of the joint and the kind of activity performed by that particular joint.

The different types of bursitis and their causes are as follows:

  • Prepatellar Bursitis: This refers to bursitis affecting the knee joint. It is commonly seen in obese people with arthritis. It can also happen due to activities like kneeling for long hours, which causes pressure on the knee joint.
  • Trochanteric Bursitis: This refers to bursitis affecting the hip joint. It is caused due to pressure on the hip joint because of standing for long hours.
  • Subachromial Bursitis: This refers to bursitis affecting the rotator cuff of the shoulder. It happens due to injury, lifting weight or overuse of the shoulder joint.
  • Olecranon Bursitis: This is associated with pain and swelling of the elbows. It happens due to repeated forward and backward movements of the elbow, especially with sports activities.

Signs and Symptoms of Bursitis

  • Stiffness around the affected joint
  • Pain, which could range from a dull ache to severe pain. Pain is worse on moving the joint.
  • Swelling around the joint
  • Redness and warmth in the affected area

Diagnosis of Bursitis

Bursitis usually resolves itself with conservative treatment, including rest. A doctor needs to be consulted if the pain does not subside for 2 weeks, or if there is fever.

A physical examination of the affected part along with a history of symptoms is sufficient to make a diagnosis. The affected part is painful to touch, and also warm. Some amount of redness is also noticed.

X-ray of the joint is done to exclude other conditions like arthritis.

Bursitis Treatments

Allopathic treatments focus on providing pain relief rather than understanding the root cause of the condition. Thus, allopathic treatments do not cure Bursitis. They are merely a way of suppressing your symptoms. The popular drugs recommended for Bursitis include antibiotics Analgesics, Corticosteroids, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), Counterirritants (for topical use), etc.

The drugs used in conventional treatments offer the following respite:

  • NSAIDs  reduce the inflammation and pain
  • Antibiotics fight any underlying infection
  • Local steroid injection, in case of severe pain

However, these treatments are not without their fair share of side-effects. NSAIDS are known to induce mild heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, or constipation; blurred vision, ringing in the ears or skin rash as potential side-effects. Excessive use of Steroid injections may cause the bone, ligaments, and tendons to weaken. Western medicine has no known cure for Bursitis. Every time Bursitis flares up, occidental Doctors only offer symptomatic relief.

Complementary Natural Care

Instead of treating the symptoms of bursitis, natural remedies combining herbs and homeopathic combinations are traditionally believed to strengthen your bursae, muscles, ligaments, and cartilages.

Every single ingredient in every Bloom kit has huge amounts of traditional use data from Ayurveda and Homeopathy and is supported by modern studies and trials. However, people and governments today tend to have varying opinions and laws regarding natural medicine and complementary therapies, which their FDA may not have studied yet. We, therefore, prefer not to make any claims, but instead, point all Patients and Doctors to independent research and clinical studies that support their effects in a scientific manner. In some cases, we compare the results of these studies to those of pharmaceutical medicines in order to show that natural products can be just as, or even more effective than drugs, which tends to have side effects.

In order to present this information in an unbiased and up to date manner, we simply show you Google Scholar search results of all scientific articles available on a certain product. We support you in your right to know and choose natural medicine!

Nutraceutical research

  • Vitamin E: Studies suggest that this natural supplement may strengthen the connective tissue, muscles, ligaments and cartilages. 1

Advanced Resonance Homeopathic Research

  • Aconite: Studies suggest that this resonance homeopathic may relieve symptoms of pain, inflammation, redness and stiffness. 2
  • Belladonna: Studies suggest that this resonance homeopathic remedy may strengthen your bursae, surrounding muscles and connective tissues, thereby preventing further episodes. 3

Conventional Treatment for Bursitis

  • NSAIDS: A few common side effects of NSAIDs include nausea, heartburn, and dizziness. There may also be side effects of NSAIDs which require immediate medical attention, including chest pain, shortness of breath, or weakness in the body. 5

Aforementioned research papers make it amply clear that many of these herbs, dietary supplements and resonance Homeopathies have shown significant promise in numerous studies for issues related to Bursitis.

Research in the use of medications as an adjunct to bursitis treatment revealed that NSAIDS which are used as an aversive medication create an acutely unpleasant, potentially dangerous physical reaction.

A study conducted by a medical department in the University of Verona, Italy, investigating the effects of homeopathic medicines, such as Belladonna on inflammatory cells showed significant results, particularly in relation to low dilutions.
